Top Ten Excuses to Blow Stuff Up

Happy Independece Day, everyone! The one day out of the year when Americans celebrate not being British anymore by drinking beer, barbequeing things, and setting off fireworks. Now, I don't neccessarily agree with the holiday (if America still belonged to Britain maybe it wouldn't be so goddamned hard to immigrate here), but that doesn't mean I don't like explosives as much as the next girl! So in honour of July 4th, here are your Top Ten Reasons to Blow Stuff Up:

10. You have a few 'momentoes' you wish to destroy... pictures of your ex, old homework, paraphenalia from your last crap job such as the pants with the 'Mad Crock' logo they gave you...

9. It's hugely liberating and something you probably don't do every day.

8. You know me, I'm American, and you should do it because I, your Editor, have proclaimed it so! Appreciate the customs of my homeland!

7. It's too damned hot outside and you're disgruntled and choose to vent your frustration through loud explosions!

6. Show your opposition to French aristocrats on Bastille Day! Isn't it July 7th? If you aren't opposed to French aristocrats, eat some smelly cheese or drink some absinthe and party like it's 1789... or not... but definitely storm something!

5. Show your appreciation for Chinese Culture... and gunpowder! You can drink some gunpowder tea (not actual gun powder) and blow things up in the park. Come on, it'll be fun!

4. You can celebrate anything with fireworks! Weddings, birthdays, breakups, even funerals (God Bless You, HST!)! I'm sure you've got something to celebrate -- break out the fireworks and party!

3. You have nothing better to do, and "Blowing things up is cool!" -Punk John

2. You've got a box of fireworks laying around from Bonfire night that you didn't get to use because you live in Britain, it was November, and it was raining.

1. Why not?

Have fun everyone! And remember to blow up firecrackers and effigies of ex-boyfriends and managers, not actual living things!! Also, make sure you're far away from anything that could suddenly catch fire, and point them AWAY from yourself and other people! Happy 4th of July!
